History

Sinclairs Taxis has been in operation for over 35 years.

Starting with just one taxi in 1975 to now having a fleet of 19 vehicles.

History

Sinclair's Taxis was formed in 1975, by Mr Laurie Sinclair and his wife Fiona. They started with just one taxi, and by providing a 1st class, reliable service they soon built up a very distinguished name for themselves and by maintaining the company gained several contracts serving the Oil Industry at Sullom Voe, and Government contracts supplying Medical Goods that were needed urgently at the Gilbert Bain Hospital in Lerwick, which soon allowed the fleet to expand.  Their company motto was to supply good quality, luxury taxis, with well-dressed drivers offering 1st class chauffeur style taxis.

Throughout the years, Sinclair's taxis specialised in the transportation of Government Officials, both local and national, as well as continuing a first class delivery service to the NHS.

On the 1st of January 2008, Sinclair's Taxis was taken over by John & Arlene Garriock, who had already owned Bolts Car Hire Ltd since February 1995. Sinclair's Taxis now has a fleet of 19 vehicles, but still providing the high quality service that was the success of their predecessor.
